Proudly named for Dick Haynes a loved Elk who recruited many Elk members during his time and had a passion for Elk Scholarships.
Our Local #91 Charles “Scobey” Newman EMS/Paramedical Scholarship Application
The Charles “Scobey” Newman EMS/Paramedical Scholarship awards a one-time $1,500 scholarship to students pursuing a career in the Paramedical field.
Charles P.B. “Scobey” Newman’s dedication to Emergency Medical Service (EMS) spanned 40 years. Scobey touched many lives in his community and inspired the minds of many healthcare professionals. The Elks #91 is proud to name this scholarship after him.
Our TENNESSEE ELKS BENEVOLENT TRUST (TEBT) available scholarships
The TEBT Nursing Scholarship program was selected as the major project for the Tennessee Elks Association in 1956 as a means to relieve a critical shortage of nurses in Tennessee. Each year the Tennessee Elks continue to fund varying levels of scholarships to students.
TEBT also sponsors a Trade Scholarship. The Trade Scholarship is for graduating seniors as well as non-traditional students; those changing career fields or those needing additional education to progress in their current career who will be pursuing a trade or certificate program.

Since 1931, the Elks National Foundation has helped students recognize their academic dreams. Considering their Most Valuable Student and Legacy Scholarships they award nearly $4 million in college scholarships to at least 850 outstanding, service-minded high school seniors.
